Student volunteers
@ ICMC HAMBURG 2026

General information

ICMC HAMBURG 2026 will take place in Hamburg-Harburg from May 10–16, 2026. Since 1974, the conference has been the leading platform for research and artistic practice in the field of digital music. For the smooth running of the conference, we are currently looking for student volunteers.

The student volunteer program offers young researchers, composers, and musicians an excellent opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest research in the field of experimental electronic music. It also allows enthusiastic students to establish and expand a network with leading academics, professionals, and other researchers in this field.

Student volunteers will take on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assisting with setting up and maintaining installations, concerts, workshops
  • Assisting with the smooth running of panels and paper sessions panels
  • Additional support with packing goodie bags, at the registration desk, at concert entrances, and the wardrobe

In general, no special skills are required, and tasks will be rotated throughout the conference. There will be plenty of time to attend the conference’s many events and formats.

Benefits

Students who volunteer will receive a free conference ticket. If the registration fee has already been paid, student volunteers will be refunded.
